Cultivating Sustainability for the Future of the Sasana

“A healthier body supports a calmer mind. A nourished mind can contemplate the Dhamma.”

Haritha Saṅgrāmaya is a long-term sustainability initiative jointly supported by Jethavanarama Buddhist Monastery and the Ministry of Nirvana Australia & New Zealand communities.
The initiative was established to help support the long-term food sustainability needs of Jethavanarama Buddhist Monastery and the continuation of the Sasana for future generations.
Every day, hundreds of monks, anagarikas, practitioners, volunteers, and devotees rely on the monastery’s support while dedicating themselves to learning, practising, and realising the Dhamma.
The monastery also welcomes large numbers of visitors attending meditation retreats, Dhamma discussions, spiritual programs, and religious observances throughout the year.
Haritha Saṅgrāmaya seeks to create sustainable agricultural and food security solutions that help support these needs for generations to come.
Through cultivation, agricultural development, water sustainability projects, and food security initiatives, we hope to build a lasting foundation that continues to nourish both body and mind.
Our mission is simple:
To help create the conditions that allow the Dhamma to flourish while supporting those who dedicate their lives to preserving and practising it.
